Personal Adornment Reflection

1. My belief or values about expressed by my dress and body adornment
: I think dressing clothes and body adornment are part of art activities that are using my body directly. By wearing clothes and accessories, I can express my feeling and my emotion. Art is not really complicated. If some activities reflect artists’ (or normal person) feeling and thought, that could be one of the art activities. Personal adornment is same. Also, whenever I put on my dress and take earring or some stuff for decoration, I believe I look better than before I do not. That is an activity that leads me to ‘upper-level of appearance.’ By doing adornment by myself, I can check my human value. Also, by expressing the belief, I can have confidence to myself.

1-2. Why do I choose to do this?
: The reason I choose to make up or do adornment is I hope my appearance looks better. To do my body adornment such as getting accessories or dressing good clothes or making up means kind of art investment to me. That could be creative art activity.

1-3. Has it changed?
: Yes. The expression of adornment has changed time goes by. It depends on specific situation (like as social art/ fashion trend) also it changed because of the age. In each of time when I focus on body adornment, I want to do differently, and more specially. The thing that I want to do is different in each moment. For this reason, my body adornment has been changed since I was interested on the adornment. Also, it is changing in this moment.

2. My family & Body adornment
: Actually, the interaction and communication about body customization are minor value in my family. My parents prefer to economic and convenient dress rather than body adornment. Nevertheless, it could be possible my parents constrain to wear too sensational body adornment. Because my parents think the clothing and body adornment exactly fit to the age, they offer to wear proper clothes when I was young if my adornment and clothing did not appropriate for my age. This is common thing in Korean society.

3. In peer community & Body adornment
: In my peer society, we pretty much spend our time to think how I look like. In my ages including me, we always catch up with hot trend. So, it is truth our values and belief pretty lean to ‘the value of beauty.’ Its passion and desire are expressed by body adornment. A lot of magazines and tons of information about body adornment give motivation to us. Also, we are pretty much affected by social art and fashion trend. It is sort of ‘art interaction.’

Food as Art #2

Food Stylist

According to the article, "You’re what? Food Stylist," the author introduces a food stylist; Lisa. In the article, Lisa prepares food for taking picture. She always thinks how food looks like in front of camera. Also, she concerns food's realistic looking as well. For doing her job, she contacts with other art directors, advertise agent, and food photographers. For example, she tries to make ice cube that looks real one, but not melting. She adds food stylist is good as a job, because she can create some food’s recipes and stay around food all the time. In the article, she does not think she just does the work. By thinking of food’s design, she transfers simple food to inspiring art work.
In my point of view, the food stylist is a job creating art. By doing the job, she can contact with others. By meeting art director, she can hear other artist’s opinion. That is different kind of art activity; social relationship. How about the food that made by her? It looks good, so it is going to engage people. By taking good looking food’s pictures, the visual effect is going to change to emotion. As our society is expanding, people want to eat not only delicious food also good looking food. Actually, people feel to want to eat when they see fabulous food pictures. My next point of view is that food art can be career tool that can earn money. It could sound weird. Nevertheless, food stylist can earn pretty much money by working art stuff. So, human daily activities (eating food) can be part of art working (taking pictures or draw picture of food), and that could be related with another kind of human activities (earning money) again. Food stylist is good example art is pretty much relates with our daily life.

Food as Art #1

A Feast Food and Art

In the article, Barilla: Celebrating the Role of Food in Film, Art, and Literature, the author describes about Barilla's passion of food art. She tries to inspire food in art by using specific art tools such as movies, pictures and books. Also, her passion about food and art is expressed in various ways. By celebrating The Barilla Feast, we can share her interest and passion of food art not only professional artist also common people. According to another source explaining Barill, she says "To eat does not mean only feed yourself, it means also to love yourself." Also, she adds "To cook is way to develop relationship, it is a curiosity and it is entertainment. It is a culture." She regards food as human's art activities not only an instinct for survival. Even if eating and cooking is really common so that we can face on the food almost every day, she thinks those are creative art activity.
In my opinion, people who cook some food are part of art even if someone says only the food which has great looks can be part of art. By cooking and eating together, we can learn how to share my happiness with others. That is a social interaction and that could be socialization. That is making relationship with others is one of the art activities. In art, there are lots of creations and passions. If we can have emotion and feeling to make food, that means we are already doing performance art.

Prioritizing Life Values

Most Inportant

1. Wisdom

2. Family

3. Love

4. Health

5. Wealth

** Comments **

In my list, I ranked some mental satisfaction as important value in my life. Those are wisdom, family, love (I added my own), health, and wealthy. The most valuable thing in my life is the wisdom. I always try to get wisdom not only academic part also every field that I face on every moment. That is I make efforts to be smart. For example, I study everyday to get knowledge that is helpful to live in the future. Also, I try to think better way to solve some problems which happen all the time such as human relationship. The second one is special to me as well. Even though I am studying abroad so I can not meet my family, my family is my energy and resource power to live my life. So, I always try to remind my family encourages me. The third one, love, is kind of similar worth. I am in a relationship now, and I think the love is important too. Even if someone says love is unbelievable and invisible, it is certain true love is basic to find only one place to rest in my busy life. For my health, I exercise with my friend almost every day. The reason, I ranked healthy as the forth one, is health is the most essential thing and the most basic value to live. The last one is wealth. By having a lenient mind, that is also important value to me.
My parents always teach to me the way of believing myself.

My parents always teach to me the way of believing myself. For this reason, whenver I do something, I usually believe my decision and keep to my way. Also,I have focused on my self-satisfaction so far, I do not really care about others' thinking and opinions. Because of the thinking, I have not had a chance to think and taken care others. So, if I can have a chance to think and side with other people, I want to set my goal to that. That is I want to set my value for other's life value.
